Lauv is building on his creative universe with an exciting collaboration with Los Angeles-based alt-pop band LANY, “Meant It.” This is the first time the two artists have collaborated, and the release adds new energy to Lauv’s growing catalog and builds excitement for his debut album, How I’m Feeling. LANY was building a hype train for its arrival, teasing the collaboration on socials, a clear signal that this was a partnership fans had been waiting to hear.

“Meant It” is not only a first-time collaboration but also another window into the artistic direction of How I’m Feeling. The track, written by Michael Pollack, Michael Matosic, Jordan Palmer, John Hill, Paul Klein, and Lauv, is featured on an album that’s focused on embracing all sides of who someone is. Lauv has called the project an exploration of identity, inspired by the idea that you can never be defined by a single emotion or a single version of yourself. To express that idea, he created six different characters, each one a different aspect of his personality and emotional experience, adding an imaginative layer to the album’s concept.

“Meant It” is a perfect fit for that vision, bringing two respected acts together in a collaboration of openness and creative expression. It’s one of a handful of guest features on How I’m Feeling, which also includes the likes of Anne-Marie and Troye Sivan, among others, and further cements Lauv’s dedication to exploring emotion through meaningful musical collaborations. “Meant It” is more than a mere collaboration. It’s a testament to artistic connection and shared creativity, and is an engaging preview of an album meant to celebrate every shade of human emotion.
