Krewella returns with “Greenlights,” a lively new release that brings several sounds together without losing the punch that suits their EDM roots. Following Good on You with Nucleya, the track gives another glimpse into their upcoming sophomore studio album Zer0, due January 31, 2020. Pop, trap, house and Bollywood influences meet across the production, creating a mix that feels energetic, colorful and built for movement. The song was already making appearances during the duo’s shows in mid-to-late 2019, giving fans an early taste before its official release. Its connection to the Orangetheory Fitness campaign also fits naturally with the track’s active, high-energy character.
What makes Greenlights especially interesting is the growing presence of an Indian music influence in Krewella’s sound. Rather than staying within one lane, the duo continues to explore different textures and styles, giving the track a broader personality. Written by Cody Tarpley, Yasmine Yousaf and Jahan Yousaf, the song works as both a standalone release and another step toward Zer0. It feels direct, upbeat and ready for a crowd, while its blend of pop, trap, house and Bollywood elements gives Krewella plenty of room to stand apart. Greenlights is a strong preview of where the duo was heading next.
