Taylor Swift Continues to Find Ways to Make It Her Moment

Taylor Swift entered 2025 at a career peak that most artists would spend their lives trying to attain. The Eras Tour had become one of the defining events in modern live music. That momentum carried over to the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17, where Swift took home multiple awards and the Eras Tour received the special Tour of the Century honour.

Even without appearing, Swift commanded the conversation. She accepted the tour award via video and took the opportunity to thank the musicians, dancers, crew, and fans who helped carry the massive production around the world. The time was right. The ceremony came exactly two years after the Eras Tour launched in Glendale, Arizona. To mark the anniversary, the show featured an exclusive performance of “Mirrorball” from that opening night.

Swift’s success at the ceremony wasn’t just about the special tour recognition. She also grabbed Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department, Favourite Tour Style, Favourite On-Screen, and Favourite Surprise Guest for Travis Kelce. What makes the story interesting is that selling records and collecting awards were not Swift’s greatest achievement.

She turned her back catalogue into an experience, a way for fans to go on a journey through the different eras of her career in one night. Costumes, friendship bracelets, surprise songs, and carefully planned stage changes became part of the experience. And even after the last show, the tour was still going.
