Snoh Aalegra brings soulful warmth and a spiritual glow on latest release “Sweet Tea”

Snoh Aalegra’s latest release, “Sweet Tea,” sounds like a well-built comeback, as it is her first solo offering in two years since her 2021 album “DO 4 LOVE.” Dropping as a surprise on August 2, 2023, just a week after “Be My Summer,” the song feels grounded in a creative process that was given space to evolve naturally. Aalegra co-wrote the song with Ariowa Irosogie and longtime collaborator NO I.D., and Aalegra and Greg Phillinganes produced it, giving the record a collaborative foundation.

In the final production of the song, the feeling of the writing changed, but it left Aalegra feeling spiritual, which is the emotional centre of the song.
