This year, Spotify named Taylor Swift the most-streamed artist in the world, further extending her reign.

The figures were staggering. Swift has amassed well over 26 billion global streams, outstripping some of the biggest names in music. So after seeing her music in the conversation all year, it felt like a fitting end to the year.

Her success was the result of an incredible schedule. She continued her Eras Tour, released more music from her expanding catalogue of re-recorded albums, and brought the tour to theatres with the hugely successful concert film.
