Meghan Trainor’s latest release, “Evil Twin,” adds revealing piece to the Treat Myself era, arriving as the album’s fourth single on December 13th. The song explores the idea of separating yourself from the parts of your personality you would rather blame on someone else, turning that inner conflict into a concept with plenty of character. It is a playful premise, but underneath it sits a recognizable human habit: making excuses for choices we know were ours.

The track also carries the anticipation surrounding Treat Myself, a project that has faced delays since its original August 2018 release schedule. Trainor wanted to add more songs, and the album was delayed again in January 2019, making each new release feel like another step toward its arrival. “Evil Twin” therefore works not only as a single, but as a glimpse into the expanded album she has continued shaping.

Written by Whethan, Josh Kear, Tyler Johnson, and Trainor, the song benefits from a concept that is easy to understand and hard to ignore. With her family announced as backup for the track, Evil Twin also carries a sense of togetherness around a story about contradiction.
