Ozzy Osbourne’s new release, “Under the Graveyard,” arrives as a powerful return, marking his first single in nine years. The song will appear on his upcoming twelfth studio album “Ordinary Man,” and features Andrew Watt on guitar, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses on bass, and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums. That lineup gives the release a strong musical foundation, while its accompanying video takes the song into much more personal territory.
Premiered on December 19th, the video was directed by Jonas Åkerlund and explores Osbourne’s late-1970s period of drink and drugs. Jack Kilmer portrays Ozzy, while Jessica Barden plays Sharon Osbourne, turning the visual into a dramatic retelling of a difficult chapter. The mini-movie approach gives “Under the Graveyard” a sense of emotional weight that extends beyond its status as a comeback single. Instead of simply celebrating Osbourne’s return, the video confronts a darker period of his life and places the song within that story. After nine years away from solo releases, the track becomes more than a new beginning; it is a doorway into “Ordinary Man,” carrying memories of struggle while opening space for another chapter in Osbourne’s musical journey and emotional weight for listeners overall.
