The 2020 American Music Awards had plenty of memorable moments, but before the performances and acceptance speeches began, celebrities hit the red carpet for a runway of bold fashion statements.

Taraji P. Henson hosted the annual event, held at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre, that brought together some of the biggest names in music, including Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, and BTS.

Despite social distancing changing the way some major events were organized, the red carpet buzz remained the same. Celebs turned up dressed to impress from glamorous gowns to daring, stage-ready outfits.

It was as if I were watching two things, seeing the arrivals. The awards were for music, but the red carpet was for style.

If the fashion choices from the night are any indication, award shows remain one of the biggest platforms for self-expression, creativity, and memorable style moments.
