Tyler, The Creator Drops Grammy Performance Fans Never Got To See

Tyler, The Creator, months after delivering one of the most memorable performances at the 2020 Grammy Awards, gave fans a glimpse at the elaborate concept that almost made it to the stage.

The rapper recently unveiled sketches of his original vision, which was far more ambitious than many realized. His plan featured a moving car, custom zoot suits, and a dramatic showdown with the fictional head of Igor Corp.

The final performance still featured an army of lookalikes, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson, but several of Tyler’s biggest ideas were left out.

Looking again at the sketches, there’s no doubt about the detailed nature of the production process. Nothing about the performance was left to chance, every move had been meticulously choreographed.

Even without the original concept, Tyler was still able to deliver a Grammy moment that fans are still talking about years later.
